	As a young artist in California, I have often been pressured to stop drawing beautiful mythical figures and to instead produce modern "art." As a gag,I did a finger-painting blindfolded and presented it to a local art critic along with my more traditional Waterhouse-esque pieces (though I'm not yet nearly as skilled as Waterhouse.) The critic dismissed all of my work as merely "craft", but praised the gag painting as true art. It is the work of artists like J.W. Waterhouse that keeps me from giving in to the pressure to devalue beauty in art, as most of the modern art world has done. The fact that J.W. 	wonderful site. have you thought of including information such as things I have read elsewhere (sorry dont remember where) about detailed examinations of the some paintings and changes that Waterhouse made during the process? Dont know how much of this sort of thing is available but it is interesting. Also have you thought of (perhaps I just missed it) including info on what it means to be "pre Raphealite" or...? I have run into people who seem to think that the aintings "have darkened due to age" and such. As I said perhaps the info is here and I didnt see it yet.
