	I have had an obsession with the Lady of Shalott since childhood. I saw the Anne of Green Gables movies based on the books and Anne read aloud the poem of the Lady of Shalott written by Alfred, Lord Tennyson while standing on a bridge. I first loved the poem and then saw a print of the painting and became enthralled with John Waterhouse and the Pre-Raphaelite style. I also fell in love with the Ophelia print because in high school I read Ophelia's part in my A.P. class when we read Hamlet. What I espesially like about the Pre-Raph style is that they feel that people are beautiful even with their faults; Raphael would fix a nose here or flatten a tummy there. The Lady of Shalott's nose is beautifully crooked and her abdomen is naturally round. This website kicks ass! -Bess p.s.
